The council met at Pittwood House, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe.

2047 PETITION – THE LILACS RESOURCE CENTRE – It was reported that a petition had been received containing around 3,000 signatures supporting keeping the Lilacs Resource Centre open. The petition had to be reported to council in accordance with Procedure Rule D1.34(d) because it contained over 1,500 signatures.

Resolved – That the petition be received.

2048 PETITION – SCOTTER HOUSE – It was reported that a petition had been received containing around 2,400 signatures supporting keeping Scotter House open. The petition had to be reported to council in accordance with Procedure Rule D1.34(d) because it contained over 1,500 signatures

Resolved – That the petition be received.

2049  NOTICE OF MOTION – PETITIONS – THE LILACS RESOURCE CENTRE AND SCOTTER HOUSE

Moved by Councillor Waltham and seconded by Councillor Poole –

“This council receives the petition in relation to the Lilacs Resource Centre and acknowledges the decision to keep the centre open, a decision that has been welcomed by carers, staff and the wider community and the council thanks them for their comments.

This council also resolves to receive the petition from 2400 residents based throughout North Lincolnshire regarding Scotter House following the flawed consultation undertaken by the previous Labour administration. This council now resolves to try and regain lost faith, held by carers and service users alike, by undertaking a comprehensive and meaningful consultation to support present and future carers’ needs”.
