Corporate Services Cabinet Member – minutes – 9 June 2009

272 (2) LOCAL VOICE YORKSHIRE AND HUMBER PROGRAMME POSTS – The Service Director Community, Planning and Resources submitted a report seeking approval to establish three posts within the Digital Inclusion Unit.

The council had been successful in gaining European Social Fund funding (ESF) in order to manage a Yorkshire and Humber wide programme called Local Voice Yorkshire and Humber The programme would use ICT and other digital technology to get people back into work and learning. The local contribution to the programme would be based at the Lighthouse life skills centre on Frodingham Road.

The programme would raise the profile of the council as an organisation that was taking the lead in using innovative methods of assisting their local community in the current economic downturn.

To perform the programme and project management tasks to a high standard and justify the associated ESF funding, three new fixed term posts were required.

Resolved – That the proposal to establish the posts of Senior Programme Manager, Programme Monitoring Officer and Programme Support Officer for a period of two years, be approved.
