3 (3) NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE EXTENDED SERVICES – The Service Director Children’s Services submitted a report seeking approval for the proposed deletion of posts from 30 June 2011, due to the removal of grant funding to deliver Extended Services.
Local Authorities had been receiving an Extended Schools Sustainability Grant to support local schools to develop and sustain the provision of Extended Services, however the requirement of schools to provide Extended Services had been removed with effect from 1 April 2011.
The Extended Services Sustainability Grant was among a number of single grants the Government included in the Dedicated Schools Grant funding arrangements for 2011-12. The Schools Forum was consulted on the future of the provision of the Extended Service, and proposals to fund from the Schools Budget. The Schools’ Forum at their meeting on 23 February 2011 agreed to cease services offered by the Extended Schools Team and serve notice to the remaining staff members.
Staff and trade unions had been consulted.
Resolved – (a) That the deletion of the posts as set out in appendix one of the report, with effect from 30 June 2011, be approved.
