421 (48) REDESIGNATION OF POSTS – The Service Director Legal and Democratic submitted a report seeking authority to redesignate the current posts of Legal Services Manager and Chief Solicitor to properly reflect the roles that they currently carried out.

Redesignation of the posts would reflect the duties and responsibilities which were being carried out by the post holders, would enable proper focus to continue to be given to mainstream and specialist contract/procurement services, would clarify roles with a view to the forthcoming review of structures and would be in conformity with the job evaluation outcomes.

Resolved – That the redesignation of posts as set out in paragraph 2.5 of the report be approved with effect from 1 August 2010.
