405 (32) THIRD TIER STRUCTURE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S SERVICE (CYPS) – The Service Director Children and Young People submitted a report to consider the restructure of the third tier management team to meet the new demands of the Locality and Partnerships and Learning and Improvement Teams within the Children and Young People’s Service. The proposed changes involved the realignment of staff across service areas of the Children and Young People’s Service and the creation and deletions of posts. It was anticipated there would be a financial saving of £280K in 2010-11.

This third tier review completed the review of the third tier structure in the CYPS and reflected the new challenges local authorities had with regard to existing statutory requirements, the new legislative framework and the new government priorities.

Resolved – That the restructure outlined within the report be approved.
