59 (59) OFSTED INSPECTIONS OF NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE SCHOOLS – The Director of Children and Young People’s Services submitted a report informing the Cabinet Member of the outcomes of the Ofsted inspections for Alkborough Primary School and Brumby Engineering College.
The schools had been inspected under the Section 5 Ofsted inspection schedule for schools. Full copies of the reports had been placed in the political group offices.
Resolved – (a) That approval be given to continue supporting improvements in the schools inspected above, and (b) that the Cabinet Member writes to the schools and makes suitable comment on the reports.
60 (60) APPOINTMENT OF GOVERNORS – The Director of Children and Young People’s Services submitted a report seeking approval to appoint an additional governor to Brumby Engineering College governing body.
Following an Ofsted Inspection, Brumby Engineering College was deemed a school requiring ‘special measures’. Approval was sought to appoint an additional governor to the governing body. The appointment of a governor with suitable experience would assist in bringing about rapid improvement and would also support the council’s action plan which Ofsted would monitor through their regular inspections.
Resolved – That the appointment of the person detailed at Appendix A to the report, to the position of additional governor to Brumby Engineering College governing body, be approved.
