People Cabinet Member – Minutes – 31 October 2012

33 (33) CHILDREN’S CENTRE OFSTED INSPECTION OUTCOME – The Director of People submitted a report informing the Cabinet Member of the outcome of the ofsted Inspection of North Axholme Children’s Centre.

All Children’s Centres were subject to annual inspections carried out by Ofsted inspectors over a five yearly cycle.  This was the first inspection for the Isle of Axholme Children’s Centre.

The inspections were carried out under Part 3A of the Childcare Act 2006 as inserted by section 199 of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009.

Inspectors gathered evidence from a range of interviews, observations and the examination of written information and the overall judgement was based on Overall effectiveness and Capacity for Sustained Improvement.

The report gave full details of the outcomes of the inspection.

Resolved – (a) That the Cabinet Member continues to support improvements at Manor Farm Children’s Centre, and (b) that the Cabinet Member writes to North Axholme Children’s Centre and makes suitable comment on the inspection report.

34 (34)  OFSTED INSPECTION OF NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE SCHOOLS The Director of People submitted a report informing the Cabinet Member of the outcomes of the Ofsted inspection for Baysgarth School.

The school had been inspected under the Section 5 Ofsted inspection schedule for schools.  A full copy of the report had been placed in the political group offices.

Resolved – That the Cabinet Member writes to the school and makes suitable comment on the report.

35 (35)  SCHOOL GOVERNORS – INSTRUMENT OF GOVERNMENT THE LUDDINGTON AND GARTHORPE PRIMARY SCHOOL – The Director of People submitted a report seeking approval of the Instrument of Government for the Luddington and Garthorpe Primary Schools Federation to be effective with immediate effect.

The report outlined that on 1 October 2012 the governing body of Luddington and Garthorpe Primary School proposed a change to the Instrument of Government in accordance with the School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2012.

Resolved –  That the instrument of government for Luddington and Garthorpe Primary School as detailed in Appendix A to the report be approved with immediate effect. 

36 (36)  SCHOOL GOVERNORS – INSTRUMENT OF GOVERNMENT THE BARTON ST PETER PRIMARY SCHOOL – The Director of People submitted a report seeking approval of the Instrument of Government for the Barton St Peter’s Church of England Primary School to be effective with immediate effect.

The report outlined that on 2 October 2012 the governing body of Barton St Peter’s Church of England Primary School proposed a change to the Instrument of Government in accordance with the School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2012.

Resolved – That the instrument of government for Barton St Peter’s Church of England Primary School as detailed in Appendix A to the report be approved with immediate effect.
