Policy & Resources Cabinet Member – Minutes – 5 April 2013

The corresponding report of the following item (Minute 52refers) contains exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).
52  (52)  BUSINESS SUPPORT DIVISION RESTRUCTURE – The Director of Policy and Resources submitted a report which sought approval for a revised structure of the business support division to enable it to more effectively deliver key council priorities through improved integration and alignment of activities.  The business support division of the policy and resources directorate was formed in July 2012 as part of the new council structure. The division was recognised as a leading enabler and driver of council-wide innovation and cost reduction. It comprised a range of corporate services, specifically:

  • strategic procurement
  • strategy and policy development
  • performance and value for money
  • information management and CMT support
  • IT services

It was noted that the IT service was excluded from the scope of this report due to a restructure that had been implemented in September 2012.

The principal objective of the review was to integrate the in-scope teams to provide a more resilient and effective corporate structure capable of responding to council priorities.  Details of the proposal were outlined within the report and associated appendices.

Resolved – That the new structure as set out in Appendix 3(a) and Appendix 3(b) to the report be approved for the effective period 1 May 2013 to 31 March 2015.

Where there is no report this is because it is exempt, as it contains information which is considered to be of a confidential nature, as detailed in the Local Government (Access to Information) Act.
