64                (16) DISPOSAL OF OPERATIONAL COUNCIL PROPERTY (LAND AND BUILDINGS) – The Director of Places submitted a report considering a revised procedure for disposing of operational council property (land and buildings) that was surplus to requirements.

The council needed to have in place a procedure for disposing of surplus council property (land and buildings).  The procedure that currently operated was approved in May 2004.  A review of the procedure was now required to reflect current circumstances.  In particular, to support the council’s aspirations for a more proactive and commercial approach to the management of operational property assets.

The report set out details of the proposed revised procedure

Resolved – That the revised procedure for disposing of operational council property (land and buildings) that was surplus to requirements, as set out in the report, be approved.

 

The corresponding report of the following item (Minute 65 refers) contains exempt information as defined in Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

65                (17) PROPERTY TRANSACTION SCHEDULES – The Director of Places submitted a report for consideration, and where necessary, approval of a schedule containing the terms of all recently negotiated property transactions.

The schedules covered both operational and commercial property.

Resolved – That the schedules appended to the report be approved.
