Highways & Neighbourhoods and Asset Management, Culture & Housing Cabinet Members – Minutes – 13 September 2013

2                 (2) GENERIC ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER POST The Director of Places submitted seeking approval to establish a generic Environmental Health Officer post.

Since the implementation of the Places Directorate third tier management review, closer working links had developed with colleagues across teams in Technical and Environment.  In order to make better use of collective resources and operate in a more flexible way, a generic Environmental Health Officer post was proposed.

This would provide a resource that could be directed as appropriate to respond to the needs of the council’s customers and emerging issues as they arose.  The new post would work flexibly across Operational Housing and Environmental Health.

Resolved – (a) That the proposal to create a generic Environmental Health Officer post, as set out in the report, be approved, and (b) that the deletion of a specialist Environmental Health Officer post, as set out in the report, be approved.
