Regeneration Cabinet Member – Minutes – 29 August 2014

The corresponding report of the following item (Minute 98 refers) contains exempt information as defined in Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

98 (14)  KIRTON IN LINDSEY AIRFIELD – The Chief Executive submitted a report, which sought approval to submit a formal tender for the acquisition of the former RAF airfield, Kirton In Lindsey.

The report outlined that the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has declared the former airfield at Kirton in Lindsey as surplus to requirements, and has been put up for sale by formal tender. After lengthy discussions with the MOD the report seeks approval to submit a bid for the site’s development as it will be a key element in the council’s property strategy, and meets a range of community aspirations from ward members, and senior members of the local community.

The matter was urgent due to the formal tender having to be with the selling agents by noon on Friday 29 August 2014.

Resolved – (a) That a formal tender be submitted in accordance with the contents of the report, and (b) that further reports be submitted in due course of the development proposal for the site to appropriate cabinet members.

Where there is no report this is because it is exempt, as it contains information which is considered to be of a confidential nature, as detailed in the Local Government (Access to Information) Act.
