 15   (15) TECHNICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES FEES AND CHARGES – The Director of Places submitted a report seeking approval for fees and charges for Technical and Environmental Services for the financial year 2016/17 in relation to the council’s Governance and Transformation Cabinet Member Portfolio, and to approve the basis of future changes to fees and charges for the period 2017-2018.Services were required to consider fees and charges annually in line with approved Corporate Charging policies.

Changes to fees and charges should take into account recovery of cost and budgeted inflation wherever possible.  Council priorities and objectives also influenced proposals for amending fees and charges.

Some fees and charges were set by Government and the council had no discretion over these.  The information in the appendix to the report indicated where these applied.

Resolved – (a) That the fees and charges for 2016/17, as set out in Appendix 1 to the report, be approved; (b) that an uplift in discretionary fees and charges to apply for the financial year 2017/18 for the services in question in line with CPI, be approved, and (c) that any future exceptions proposed to the above, as and when necessary, be considered.
