PRESENT:  Councillors Carlile, Clark and Glover.

Councillor K Vickers attended the meeting in accordance with the provisions of Procedure Rule 1.36 (b).

The sub-committee met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.

1093  CHAIRMAN – Resolved – That Councillor Clark be and he is hereby appointed chairman for the meeting.

Councillor Clark thereupon took the chair.

1094  DECLARATIONS OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS, PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND SIGNIFICANT CONTACT WITH APPLICANTS, OBJECTORS OR THIRD PARTIES (LOBBYING) – There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests and personal or personal and prejudicial interests.

1095  (41)  LICENSING ACT 2003 – APPLICATION FOR A TEMPORARY EVENT NOTICE, ‘THE OLD MILL’, MARKET LANE, BARTON-UPON-HUMBER, NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE – The Director of Places submitted a report advising members of an application for a Temporary Event Notice atThe Old Mill, Market Lane, Barton-Upon-Humber, North Lincolnshire.

Details of the application were outlined in the report, together with the application and one representations from Environmental Health.

The Director in his report reminded the sub-committee that the options available to it under the Licensing Act 2003 when considering such applications were:

  • To issue a counter notice;
  • Not to issue a counter notice;
  • To impose conditions on the Temporary Event Notice that are already on the Premises Licence or Club Premises Certificate.

The sub-committee received a request to vary the procedure for the hearing.  The Director of Policy and Resources, explained that the applicant had requested an adjournment in order to seek legal advice from licensing solicitors.

The Sub-Committee then considered whether they wished to agree to the request for an adjournment.

Resolved – That the hearing be adjourned and rearranged to a future date, keeping all parties informed.
