PRESENT:  Councillors Allcock, Armitage and Rowson.

The sub-committee met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.

1170  CHAIRMAN – ResolvedThat Councillor Allcock be and he is hereby appointed chairman for the meeting.

Councillor Allcock thereupon took the chair.

1171  DECLARATIONS OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS, PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND SIGNIFICANT CONTACT WITH APPLICANTS, OBJECTORS OR THIRD PARTIES (LOBBYING)There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests and personal or personal and prejudicial interests.

1172  (4)  LICENSING ACT 2003 – APPLICATION FOR VARIATION OF A PREMISES LICENCE, THE LIGHT, OSWALD ROAD, SCUNTHORPE, DN15 7PU – The Director of Places submitted a report advising members of an application for variation of a premises licence for The Light, Oswald Road, Scunthorpe, DN15 7PU.

Details of the application were outlined in the report, together with the application and representations from Humberside Police, the Licensing Authority, and Environmental Health (Commercial).

The Director in his report reminded the sub-committee that the options available to it under the Licensing Act 2003 when considering such applications were:

To modify the conditions of the licence;
To reject the whole or part of the application.

The Sub-Committee then considered whether they wished to adjourn the hearing to a future date to enable full consideration of evidence submitted subsequently by the applicant and the licensing authority.  Views were sought from all sides by the Chairman.

Resolved – That the hearing be adjourned and rearranged to a future date, keeping all parties informed.
