Economic Development and Corporate Issues Scrutiny Panel – 14 March 2011

The panel met at Pittwood House, Scunthorpe.
239 DECLARATIONS OF PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUCICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – There were no declarations of personal or personal and prejudicial interests.
No whip was declared.
240 MINUTES – Resolved -That the minutes of the proceedings of this panel held on28 February 2011, having been printed and circulated amongst the members, be taken as read and correctly recorded and signed by the chair.
241 PUBLIC SPEAKING – There were no requests received.
242 REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCIES – The chair welcomed Marcus Walker, Head of Strategic Regeneration, Housing and Development to the meeting.Mr Walker had been invited to discuss Regional Development Agency’s, in particular, members’ had expressed concern that with the Humber Economic Partnership due to be abolished in March 2011, the news that Yorkshire Forward would not continue in its current form after March 2012 and the current uncertainty surrounding the lack of a Local Enterprise Partnership in North Lincolnshire, members would like to discuss these issues with you.
The chair then invited Mr Walker to briefly explain the current position on the future of Regional Development Agency’s before facilitating a discussion between the members and Mr Walker.
Resolved – (a) That the position be noted, and (b) that Mr Walker be thanked for his attendance and for answering members’ questions.
243 (29) LEADER OF THE COUNCIL’S FORWARD PLAN – MARCH TO JUNE 2011 – The Service Director Legal and Democratic circulated the Leader of North Lincolnshire Council’s Forward Plan for March to June May 2011.
The plan contained details of all matters and issues likely to be the subject of key decisions for a period of the next four months, updated on a monthly basis. Members discussed various items on the Forward Plan.
Resolved – That the Leader of the Council’s Forward Plan for March to June 2011 be noted.
