Corporate Scrutiny Panel – 13 March 2014

PRESENT:  Councillor Robinson in the chair.

Councillors Eckhardt, Jawaid, Ogg and Wilson.

Councillors Collinson and Whiteley attended the meeting in accordance with the provisions of Procedure Rule 1.37 (b).

The panel met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.

239  DECLARATIONS OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS AND PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests and personal or personal and prejudicial interests –

No whip was declared.

240  IT REVIEW – The Chairman updated the panel on the progress with the IT Review, and invited Martin Oglesby, Head of IT Services and Richard Bulmer, Business Enhancement Manager to the meeting to give a presentation on the IT equipment provision to employees of North Lincolnshire Council. They covered the following areas:-

·            Specific IT strategy themes support our employees

·            Different forms of IT access

·            IT hardware in use across NLC

·            Enabling access software

·            How we ensure we meet all needs

·            Future access – what’s next?
The panel then held a question and answer session.

Resolved – That the action be noted.

241  SICKNESS ABSENCE REVIEW – The Chairman updated the panel on the current position with regards to the sickness absence review.  He informed them that the draft report was currently being written, and that it would be brought back to the panel for discussion at a future meeting.

242  ADDED ITEMEMPLOYEE SURVEY 2012 – The Chairman circulated a copy of the employee survey draft report 2012 for members to read and comment on.  He indicated that if the panel approved the report today it would then go to the next meeting of the Cabinet to be held on the 1 April 2014.
