MINUTES

PRESENT: Councillor Marper in the Chair.

Councillors Collinson (Vice-Chair), Godfrey, Clark and Wells.

Statutory Co-opted Members: Mrs D Senior and Mrs P Whittaker (Parent Governor Representative) Mr W Egan and P Thompson (Church Representatives).

Councillor Whiteley attended the meeting in accordance with the provisions of Procedure Rule 1.37 (b).

The panel met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.

244  DECLARATIONS OF DISCOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS AND PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – The following member declared a personal interest – There were no declarations of pecuniary or personal and prejudicial interests.

No whip was declared.

245  PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK There were no requests received.

246  ADDED ITEMSCHOOL MEAL PROVISION – As requested by Councillor Collinson the panel invited Chris Matthews, assistant Director Community Services, and Sharon Seddon, Head of catering and cleaning to the meeting to give an update on the provision of school meals, particularly focusing on the universal free school meal roll out to all key stage 1 primary school pupils.

Resolved – (a) That Chris and Sharon be thanked for their attendance and updating the panel on the school meals provision, and (b) that the officers be invited back to give a further update in July 2014.

247  PEOPLE SCRUTINY PANEL WORK PROGRAMME– The Chairman of the panel asked members to formulate issues for discussion to contribute to the future work programme of the panel.

Resolved – That member’s feed in the issues to the Director of Policy & Resources to be discussed at the next panel meeting.
