The panel met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.

291  DECLARATIONS OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS AND PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests and personal or personal and prejudicial interests –

No whip was declared.

292  MINUTES – Resolved – That the minutes of the proceedings of this panel held on 23 October 2014, having been printed and circulated amongst the members, be taken as read and correctly recorded and signed by the chairman.

293  PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK – There were no requests received.

294  REGENERATING NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE – The Chairman welcomed Lesley Potts, the council’s Head of Policy and Research to the meeting.  Miss Potts had been invited to discuss with members the impact that apprenticeships had for those individuals aged 16 years and older who were not in full time education, to work for a real employer, earn a real salary and gain a real qualification whilst gaining valuable workplace skills and experience

Miss Potts delivered an oral presentation, before the Chairman facilitated a discussion on how apprenticeships were providing employment opportunities to assist the regeneration of North Lincolnshire.

Resolved – (a) That the position be noted, and (b) that the Head of Policy and Research be thanked for her attendance, presentation and for answering members’ questions.
