People Scrutiny Panel – 16 December 2014
PRESENT: – Councillor Marper in the Chair.
Councillors Collinson (Vice-Chair), Clark, Godfrey and Wells.
Statutory Co-opted Members: Mrs P Whittaker, Mrs D Senior (Parent Governor Representatives).
The panel met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.
294 DECLARATIONS OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS AND PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – There were no declarations or whip declared.
295 PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK– There were no requests received.
296 NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE ANNUAL EDUCATION REPORT – The Chairman welcomed Peter Thorpe, the Assistant Director Education to the meeting. Peter attended the meeting to update the panel on the latest annual educational report findings, as requested by the scrutiny panel. He informed the panel on the current position, and highlighted areas for concern/improvement. He also answered member’s questions where appropriate.
Resolved – (a) That Peter be thanked for attending, and (b) that the annual report be noted.
297 SCRUTINY REVIEW- CARE HOMES IN NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE – The Chairman updated the panel on the review so far, and members held a discussion and provided feedback on the visits that they had attended in various care homes across North Lincolnshire.
The Chairman then welcomed Healthwatch who were also in attendance at the meeting. They attended to give a general overview of the ‘enter and view’ visits they had carried out as commissioned by the scrutiny panel in 20 various care homes across North Lincolnshire. They also informed the panel that a formal report would be published and available to the public early in 2015.
Resolved – That the feedback and next stages be noted.
