Health Scrutiny Panel – 12 October 2015

The panel met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.
312 DECLARATIONS OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS AND PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – There were no declarations of interest. No whip was declared.
313 PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK– There were no requests received.
314 DUAL DIAGNOSIS – The Chairman welcomed Wendy Fisher, Locality Manager Adult Mental Health Services, and Tania Linden, Adult Mental Health Service Manager, Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, to the meeting. The Chairman explained that Wendy and Tania had been invited to discuss the Trust’s role in identifying, co-ordinating and treating those with a dual mental health and substance misuse issue.
A wide-ranging discussion took place, including on topics such as assessment, joint working arrangements, referrals and performance. Wendy and Tania explained the development of structures to facilitate joint working, including the need to agree a pathway. Further discussions took place, with Wendy and Tania responding to a number of members’ questions.
Resolved – (a) That Wendy Fisher and Tania Linden be thanked for their attendance, and (b) that the situation be noted.
