PRESENT:-  Councillor Mumby-Croft in the Chair.

Councillors Armiger, Davison, Ellerby and Ogg.

The panel met at the Civic Centre, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe.

364     DECLARATIONS OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS AND PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests and personal or personal and prejudicial interests.

No whip was declared.

365     MINUTES – Resolved – That the minutes of the proceedings of this panel held on 25 July 2016, having been printed and circulated amongst the members, be taken as read and correctly recorded and signed by the Chairman.

366     PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK– There were no requests received.

367     SEXUAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING – The Chairman welcomed Victoria Gibbs and Susan Twemlow, North Lincolnshire Council, and David Pratt, Heather Murray and Joan Finley from Virgin Care, to the meeting.  The Chairman explained that the witnesses had been invited to discuss the commissioning and delivery of specialist sexual health services across North Lincolnshire.  The Virgin Care representatives gave a detailed presentation on key aspects of their work, including demographic details, performance on chlamydia, HIV and teenage pregnancy, and ongoing work to improve the retention rate of long-acting reversible contraception.

The Chairman then led a wide-ranging discussion on a number of related issues, including engagement with schools, patient pathways, the Adolescent Lifestyle Survey, and high risk groups.

Resolved – (a)  That Victoria Gibbs, Susan Twemlow, David Pratt, Heather Murray and Joan Finley be thanked for their attendance, presentation and for answering members’ questions, and (b) that the situation be noted.
