The following item contains exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

3 (2) FIT FOR THE FUTURE MANAGEMENT REVIEW – PHASE TWO – The Service Director Adult Social Care submitted a report seeking approval for commencement of phase two of the Adult Social Services management review.

Adult Social Services began a major change programme in January 2007, named Fit for the Future. The aim of the programme was for the service to improve the outcomes for vulnerable citizens.

The service had made great progress in the past year; one of the initiatives that was undertaken was to review the existing senior and middle management structure. The first phase of the review was complete and the service was now ready to commence phase two of the project, which involved first line managers and staff groups.

The report gave details of the proposed method that the service was to use to begin phase two of the review.

Resolved – (a) That the ongoing work to improve the services to vulnerable adults in the area be supported, (b) that the commencement of phase two of the management review be approved, and (c) that Cabinet Members receive a further report once outcomes of phase two have been determined.

Note: Reports are in Portable Document Format (PDF) and therefore require a suitable reader to view them. A reader can be downloaded free from the Adobe website (full instructions for downloading the reader are provided on the site).

Where there is no report this is because it is exempt, as it contains information which is considered to be of a confidential nature, as detailed in the Local Government (Access to Information) Act.
