40 (5) APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE – SCUNTHORPE RUGBY UNION FOOTBALL CLUB MINI/JUNIOR SECTION – The Service Director Legal and Democratic submitted a report in connection with this year’s exchange between the Scunthorpe Rugby Union Football Club Mini/Junior Section and its equivalent club from Clamart, France. This year a party of approximately 30 people from Clamart had visited North Lincolnshire at Easter and between the 16 and 19 May the Under 13’s Team from North Lincolnshire would visit Clamart for a tournament. This exchange had been in existence for some 25 years and continued to grow in strength. The application was for financial assistance towards the costs involved.

Resolved – That a grant of £200 be made to the Scunthorpe Rugby Union Football Club Mini/Junior Section in the financial year 2008/2009.

41 (6) GLANFORD/GIFHORN TWINNING ASSOCIATION – A report was submitted by the Service Director Legal and Democratic in connection with this year’s exchange between Glanford and Gifhorn, Germany. This year a delegation from Gifhorn would be visiting North Lincolnshire in July and a number of events/activities had been organised. This exchange had been in existence for many years and continued to grow in strength. The application was for financial assistance towards the costs involved.

Resolved – That a grant of £200 be made to the Glanford/Gifhorn Twinning Association in the financial year 2008/2009.
