274 (4) SAFER NEIGHBOURHOODS STAFFING CHANGES – The Service Director Community Planning and Resources submitted a report seeking approval to regrade and redesignate posts in the Safer Neighbourhoods division.

There were six Safer Neighbourhoods Officer posts within Community Planning and Resources, the posts focused on various different issues, although a standard job description served them all.

Two recent developments had led to a review of the standard job description. A recent scrutiny panel review on domestic violence recommended that a specialist post be created to co-ordinate domestic violence provision across partner organisations. A second development was the change in roles regarding the neighbourhood action team process.

Full details of the proposed changes to the establishment, including financial implications, were set out in the report.

Resolved – (a) That the establishment changes, as set out in the report, be approved, and (b) that a further report be submitted to the Cabinet Member on support requirements for the various functions carried out within the Safer Neighbourhoods Partnership.
