85 (11) NATIONAL CHILDREN AND ADULT SERVICES CONFERENCE – The Service Director Legal and Democratic submitted a report in connection with this year’s Annual National Children and Adult Services Conference which will take place on Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 October 2009 at the Harrogate International Centre.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Rising to the Challenge: Brighter Futures for All” – with the conference addressing the challenges that arise in the children and adult sector and how the outcomes can predict a brighter future in the changing political landscape.

Resolved – That the Cabinet Member for Children’s Service be authorised to attend the above mentioned conference.

86 (12) SECURING COMMUNITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDING THROUGH PLANNING AGREEMENTS – A report was submitted by the Service Director Legal and Democratic in connection with a training event to be held in York on 22/23 October 2009 entitled “Securing Community and Infrastructure Funding Through Planning Agreements.”

Resolved – That the vice chair of the Planning Committee be authorised to attend the above mentioned conference.
