Adult Services Cabinet Member – Minutes – 29 July 2010

59 (2) PROPERTY SURPLUS TO REQUIREMENTS – THE WILLOWS, BARTON – BUNGALOWS – The Service Director Adult Social Care submitted a report to declare two bungalows adjacent to the Willows Residential Home surplus to service requirements.

The premises were most recently utilised by Learning Disability Service as a Barton outreach satellite unit, however this use had ceased some years ago. More recently, North Lincolnshire Homes had leased a number of offices within the premises for an all-inclusive rental of £6,500 per annum, however, vacated the premises in November 2009.

The Fit for the Future review identified a requirement for locality based working and these premises were identified as a possible Barton base for Adult Social Services staff and staff from partner agencies. The service had secured more suitable accommodation within Providence House which was closer to Barton Town centre. The Adult Social Service Senior Management Team had therefore determined the premises as surplus to service requirements.

Resolved – (a) That the Willows, Barton Bungalows be declared surplus to the requirements of Adult Social Services, (b) that the Service Director Asset Management and Culture be asked to process any disposal of the premises via the approval of the Cabinet Member for Corporate Services through the normal Property Transaction Schedule process, and (c) that until the Bungalows are sold they remain the budgetary responsibility of Adult Social Care Services.
