Deputy Leader – Asset & Estate Management, Sport, Leisure and Culture Cabinet Member – minutes – 5 December 2011

The following item contains exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

31 (31) NORMANBY ENTERPRISE PARK PHASE 7 RECLAMATION – The Director of Infrastructure Services submitted an urgent report seeking to consider and approve the best method of achieving the final phase reclamation at Normanby Enterprise Park.

Reports requesting approval for the ongoing reclamation of the former steelworks at Normanby Enterprise Park had previously been submitted to the Cabinet Member.  The most recent report requiring approval of the penultimate phase of reclamation was approved on 19 July 2011 (minute 4 refers).  The works had now reached a stage where the final phase of the reclamation was ready for procurement.

The matter was urgent as the works to take waste to Conesby Quarry needed to be completed by 31 March 2012 to avoid the payment of landfill tax.

The report set out two methods of procuring the contract for the final phase of reclamation, along with financial implications.

Resolved – That the issuing of a variation order to Hall Construction, to complete the final phase of reclamation at Normanby Park steelworks, be approved.

Where there is no report this is because it is exempt, as it contains information which is considered to be of a confidential nature, as detailed in the Local Government (Access to Information) Act.
