It was explained that the posts would ensure that the project team had the capacity to deliver a successful South Humber Broadband local broadband plan, a commercial supplier procurement, and subsequent superfast broadband implementation. 

The Head of Regeneration and Planning advised that if the posts were not approved, the Local Broadband Plan would not be accepted by Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) and hence the funding allocated to North Lincolnshire Council and to North East Lincolnshire Council would not be released.  An urgent decision was requested to allow the recruitment of these posts to commence with immediate effect, and to secure the funding from BDUK. 

Resolved – That the creation of the posts of South Humber Broadband Programme Director, Project Manager, Project Officer, and Project Support Officer be approved.
