Customer Services, Sport & Leisure Cabinet Member – Minutes – 7 May 2013

The corresponding report of the following item (Minute 21refers) contains exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

21        (21)  REVIEW OF SAFER NEIGHBOURHOODS –  The Director of Places submitted a report for consideration and approval of a new structure for the safer neighbourhoods team that formed part of the Places directorate for the council.

The North Lincolnshire Safer Neighbourhoods Partnership was the statutory partnership that fulfilled the functions of the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and the Drug Action Team in North Lincolnshire, and also had responsibility for reducing re-offending. To this end, within the Partnership was a small integrated team, made up of Probation staff and Police staff, who managed the Integrated Offender Programme

The political leadership of the council had confirmed an aspiration to fund an additional two Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) in North Lincolnshire. The outcome of the Safer Neighbourhoods review provided sufficient savings to fund these posts as well as funding the proposed structure.

Details of the proposals were outlined within the report and associated appendices.

Resolved – That the Safer Neighbourhoods structure as set out in the appendices to the report be approved.
