95 (12) STRATEGIC FLOODING AND RISK MANAGEMENT – UPDATEThe Director of Places submitted a reportadvising the Cabinet Member on the position in relation to the Humber and Local Flood Risk Management Strategies, and the Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Funding Bids.

The council was represented at a meeting of the Humber Joint Group on 21 June 2012.  At the meeting, an update was provided on the need to develop a Humber Flood Risk Management Strategy.

The report also considered a requirement to develop a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and the submission of Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Funding bids.

Appendix A attached to the report set out the latest position in relation to the updates.

Resolved – (a) That the positive ongoing work by the council in relation to strategic flooding and risk management be endorsed, and (b) that it be placed on record the Cabinet Member’s appreciation of the work undertaken by council officers, supported by elected members, in responding to localised cases of flooding experienced across North Lincolnshire during the weeks commencing 2 and 9 July 2012.
