People Cabinet Member – Minutes – 17 April 2013

The corresponding reports of the following items (Minute 69refer) contain exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

69        (69) REVIEW OF MANAGEMENT SUPPORT – PEOPLE DIRECTORATE – The Director of People submitted a report which sought approval to implement the review of the management support function within the People Directorate.

In June 2012, the new council management team was created, reducing the number of directors from six to three. Subsequently, the number of assistant directors was reviewed in line with the ‘one council’ objective to create twelve posts in place of the twenty six that previously existed.

The purpose of the management support review was to establish appropriate management support to Assistant Directors and Heads of Service. The proposals also provided the opportunity to identify a dedicated resource for the People Directorate to undertake the functions associated with the Information Governance requirements.

Further details of the proposals were outlined within the report and associated appendices.

Resolved – That with reference to option 1 outlined within the report, the changes to the establishment detailed in Appendix 1 to the report be approved with immediate effect.

Note: Reports are in Portable Document Format (PDF) and therefore require a suitable reader to view them. A reader can be downloaded free from the Adobe website (full instructions for downloading the reader are provided on the site).

Where there is no report this is because it is exempt, as it contains information which is considered to be of a confidential nature, as detailed in the Local Government (Access to Information) Act.
