37        (37) OFSTED INSPECTION OF NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE CHILDREN HOME – The Director of People submitted a report informing the Cabinet Member of the outcome of the ofsted Inspection of a North Lincolnshire Children’s Home.

All Children’s Homes were subject to annual inspections carried out by Ofsted inspectors.  In April 2011, Ofsted revised their Children’s Home Inspection processes and a new inspection framework was implemented. The revisions to the inspection process were intended to make inspections more focused on outcomes for children.

The report gave full details of the outcomes of the inspection.

Resolved – That the Cabinet Member notes the outcome of the latest inspection of the children’s home.

38        (38)  SERVICE RESPONSE TO PEOPLE SCRUTINY PANEL REPORT ON CORPORATE PARENTING AND SERVICES TO LOOKED AFTER CHILDREN – The Director of People submitted a report informing the Cabinet Member of the actions taken in response to the People Scrutiny Panel Report on Corporate Parenting and Services for Looked after Children and Young People in North Lincolnshire.

During 2012, the People Scrutiny Panel undertook a review of Corporate Parenting and Services to Looked after Children, the subsequent report was presented to cabinet on 25 September 2012, Minute 990 (14).  The report identified areas for further development and, in response to these, an action plan had been put into place to ensure continued improvement in the delivery of services.

The report and action plan was submitted to the People Scrutiny Panel for consideration on 7 November 2012, Minute 141 refers.  Comments were received and discussed with the cabinet member.

Resolved – (a)  That the Cabinet Member welcomes and supports the actions outlined, and (b) that the Service Response to the People Scrutiny Panel report on Corporate Parenting and Services to Looked after Children be submitted to the Cabinet for consideration and approval.
