24 (3) OUTDOOR SEASONAL RECREATION ASSISTANTS – The Director of Places submitted a report which aimed to improve the service to the customers using outdoor sports sites, sought agreement to establish three Seasonal Outdoor Recreation Assistants to cover football duties and Winterton Synthetic Pitch (WSTP), and make a saving in the cost of outdoor sports sites.
It was explained that the council managed sports pitches at CO-Op, West Common Lane, Brigg Recreation Ground, Quibell Park and Winterton Synthetic Pitch (WSTP). There were approximately 490 bookings at WSTP in 2012/13, and a further 350 adult football matches played at weekends on the other sites during the 2012/13 season.
The report outlined the need for staff to cover these facilities.
Resolved – That approval be given to establish three Outdoor Recreation Assistant posts, as detailed in the report.
