Highways & Neighbourhoods Cabinet Member – Minutes – 15 May 2013

55 (1) A160 A180 PORT OF IMMINGHAM IMPROVEMENTS CONSULTATION – The Director of Places submitted an urgent report informing the Cabinet Member of progress on the A160/A180 Port of Immingham Improvement Scheme and particularly the current consultation period, and seeking agreement for the formal response to the consultation from the council.

The Highways Agency was proposing to improve access via the A160 to the Port of Immingham from the A180 at Brocklesby Interchange.

The government announced in May 2012 that the A160 had been given an accelerated design programme with associated funding to get the scheme ready for construction in Spring 2015 subject to funding being available.

As part of this process the Highways Agency was currently consulting on the preferred option stage of the project.

The matter was urgent due to tight timescales, as the consultation period ended on 20 May 2013.

Resolved – (a) That the formal consultation response from North Lincolnshire Council, confirming strong support for the project, be approved, and (b) that the continuation of work with the Highways Agency as the project progresses, to ensure the ongoing involvement of North Lincolnshire Council in this major highway scheme, be approved.
