People Cabinet Member – Minutes – 22 August 2013

94  (23) CONSULTATION ON THE BUILDING OF AN INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITY – The Director of People submitted a report to inform the Cabinet Member of the outcome of the public consultation on the proposed build of an Intermediate care facility, and sought consideration of the use of the De Lacy House site in Winterton for this new facility.
The report identified that the Council was committed to supporting older people and those with special needs to live independently in their own homes, and had committed in excess of £3m for a new modern intermediate care facility, capable of enabling the highest standard of care to North Lincolnshire residents.

The Council held a public consultation to determine if this proposal was supported by the residents of North Lincolnshire, if they thought an existing Council site should be utilised to reduce costs and whether the council should proceed as quickly as possible.

Details of the consultation were outlined in Appendix 1 to the report.

Resolved – (a) That the consultation feedback be noted, and (b) that the use of De Lacy House site be approved to build the new build intermediate care facility.
