7          (7) GOVERNMENT SINGLE DATA LIST 2015-16 – The Director of Policy and Resources submitted a report to inform the cabinet member of the changes to the government’s Single Data List for 2015-16.

The Single Data List (SDL) set out the data returns that council’s were required to submit to central government, and the revised list identified that the council must submit 142 separate returns comprising 480 individual data sets in 2015-16.

This data was used by the Business Performance & Improvement team to provide the council with an annual value for money profile.

The Department for Communities and Local Government had issued the SDL for 2015-16 and a number of amendments to collection had been made. In the first list produced in 2011/12 there were 201 collection headings and 638 individual data sets. The amount of collections had reduced and the list for 2015/16 identified that there would be 142 separate collections and 480 individual data set returns.

Details were outlined within the report.
