13 (13) HOUSING ADVICE TEAM HOMELESS PREVENTION IN NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE 2015/16 – The Director of Places submitted a report updating the Cabinet Member on work undertaken by the Housing Advice Team to prevent and deal effectively with homelessness and the threat of homelessness.

Homeless prevention was the main remit of the Housing Advice Team. Whilst the team discharged any statutory homeless duty due, on behalf of the council, the homeless prevention agenda had been central to Government policy for many years.

Homeless prevention figures are subject to regular audit and are collated by the DCLG.

The report gave details of comparisons of the council’s performance against North East Lincolnshire Council, the neighbouring local authority, and the England average.

Resolved – (a) That the contents of the report be noted, and (b) that the continuing efforts of the Housing Advice Team in preventing homelessness in North Lincolnshire, be endorsed.
