17 (17) REVIEW OF MOBILE PARK KEEPERS AND PARK ATTENDANTS – The Director of Operations submitted a report seeking approval of a new structure for Mobile Park Keepers and Park Attendants.

Following the review of Highways and Neighbourhood Services in 2015 the responsibility for Parks and Cemeteries was placed under a new post.  As a result, a further review of the area that dealt specifically with parks maintenance was necessary.

The intention of the review was to address current issues by creating a dedicated resource at Baysgarth Park, to enable Green Flag status to be achieved and to have a pool of Community Operatives working a shift pattern to cover the hours of 7am until 10pm daily across parks and playgrounds across the borough.

Full details of the review, including financial implications, were set out in the report and accompanying appendices.

Resolved – (a) That changes to the structure for Parks and Cemeteries, as set out in the report and accompanying appendices, be approved and (b) that the review be subsequently completed in line with the council’s review protocol.
