Safer and Stronger Communities Scrutiny Panel – 22 June 2010
PRESENT: Councillor Davison in the Chair.
Councillors Waltham (vice-chair), Ali, Armitage, Clark, Ellerby and T Foster.
Councillor Collinson attended the meeting in accordance with Procedure Rule 1.37(b).
The panel met at Pittwood House, Scunthorpe.
279 DECLARATIONS OF PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – There were no declarations of personal or personal and prejudicial interests.
No whip was declared.
280 MINUTES – Resolved – That the minutes of the proceedings of this panel held on3 June 2010, having been printed and circulated amongst the members, be taken as read and correctly recorded and signed by the chair.
281 PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK – There were no requests received.
282 (6) SCRUTINY REVIEW – ‘NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE RESIDENTS PERCEPTION OF THE FEAR OF CRIME’ – The Service Director Legal and Democratic circulated a draft of the scrutiny panel’s fear of crime survey, for members to comment upon.
Resolved – That the draft fear of crime survey be approved, subject to the amendments agreed at the meeting being incorporated.
283 ‘LET’S TALK – Following a request from the panel, the Service Director Legal and Democratic provided the members with further background information on the ‘Let’s Talk’ project and how it could assist the panel’s review into the ‘fear of crime in North Lincolnshire’.
Resolved – That the Head of Safer Neighbourhoods be invited to a future meeting to discuss the ‘Let’s Talk Tool Kit’.
284 (7) LEADER OF THE COUNCIL’S FORWARD PLAN – JUNE TO SEPTEMBER 2010 – The Service Director Legal and Democratic circulated the Leader of North Lincolnshire Council’s Forward Plan for June to September 2010.
The plan contained details of all matters and issues likely to be the subject of key decisions for a period of the next four months, updated on a monthly basis. Members discussed various items on the Forward Plan.
Resolved – That the Leader of the Council’s Forward Plan for June to September 2010 be noted.
