Health Scrutiny Panel – 18 March 2014

MINUTES

PRESENT: Councillor Mrs Bromby in the chair.

Councillors Barker (Vice-Chair), Bainbridge, Eckhardt and Ogg.

Councillor Whiteley attended the meeting in accordance with the provisions of Procedure Rule 1.37 (b).

The panel met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.

195 DECLARATIONS OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS AND PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests and personal or personal and prejudicial interests.

No whip was declared.

196 PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK– There were no requests received.

197 (15) ENSURING EFFECTIVE CONTINENCE CARE – The Director, Policy and Resources, circulated a draft response to the report of the panel from October 2013, on ensuring effective continence care. The paper updated members on the current position, the progress to date and ongoing action. Catherine Wylie, Director of Risk and Quality Assurance, North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group discuss the draft and answer members’ questions prior to submission to the meeting of Cabinet in April 2014. The Chairman then led a discussion of the panel’s next steps, and invited questions and comments from the panel.

Resolved – (a) That Catherine Wylie be thanked for her report and attendance and, (b) that the report be noted.

198 FUTURE WORK PROGRAMME – The Chairman invited members to consider their future work programme and priorities. A number of items have already been arranged for future meetings, including an invitation to the Chief Executive and Medical Director of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Foundation Trust to attend the panel on 8 April 2014. Local health providers would also be submitting their annual Quality Account documents to the panel on 29 April 2014.

Resolved – That the panel’s work programme be noted.
