MINUTES
PRESENT: Councillor Marper in the Chair.
Councillors Collinson (Vice-Chair), Clark, Godfrey and Wells.
Statutory Co-opted Members: Mrs D Senior and Mrs P Whittaker (Parent Governor Representative) and Mr W Egan (Church Representatives).
Councillor Whiteley attended the meeting in accordance with the provisions of Procedure Rule 1.37 (b).
The panel met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.
234 DECLARATIONS OF DISCOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS AND PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – The following member declared a personal interest – There were no declarations of pecuniary or personal and prejudicial interests.
No whip was declared.
235 PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK – There were no requests received.
236 REVIEW OF CHILDHOOD WEIGHT IN NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE – The Director of Policy and Resources circulated a copy of the draft report on childhood weight in North Lincolnshire, for members of the panel to discuss and approve. The draft report outlined the work carried out by the panel, and the main body of the report hihglighted the findings of the review. Members discussed in detail the recommendations for improvement that would be submitted to the next Cabinet meeting for their approval and adoption.
Resolved – That with the inclusion of an additional recommendation, the draft report be approved and submitted to the next Cabinet meeting.
237 FUTURE WORK PROGRAMME AND PRIORITIES – Members discussed their future work programme and priorities for the 2013/14 municipal year.
Resolved – That members invite officers to the next meeting to discuss ‘raising of the school leaving age in England and Wales.
