The panel met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.

356 DECLARATIONS OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS AND PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests and personal or personal and prejudicial interests –

No whip was declared.

357 MINUTES – Resolved – That the minutes of the proceedings of this panel held on 10 September 2015, having been printed and circulated amongst the members, be taken as read and correctly recorded and signed by the chairman.

358 PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK – There were no requests received.

359 REGENERATING NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE – UNIVERSITY TECHNICAL COLLEGE – Further to Minute 354, the Chairman welcomed Jenny Couch, the council’s Head of Economic Growth from the Planning and Regeneration Service to the meeting.  Mrs Couch had been invited to update members on the opening of the University Technical College (UTC) and discuss how, specialising in engineering and renewables, alongside other key subjects, the Humber UTC offered a different experience, with the emphasis being ‘hands-on’ learning, where students get to deal with real issues they would expect to find in the workplace.

Mrs Couch delivered an oral presentation, before the Chairman facilitated a discussion on the Humber UTC.

Resolved – (a) That the position be noted, and (b) that the Head of Economic Growth be thanked for her attendance, presentation and for answering members’ questions.
