The panel met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.
361 DECLARATIONS OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS AND PERSONAL OR PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS AND DECLARATIONS OF WHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS (IF ANY) – There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests and personal or personal and prejudicial interests –
No whip was declared.
362 MINUTES – Resolved – That the minutes of the proceedings of this panel held on 1 October 2015, having been printed and circulated amongst the members, be taken as read and correctly recorded and signed by the chairman.
363 PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK – There were no requests received.
364 REGENERATING NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE – FESTIVAL OF SKILLS AND OPPORTUNITIES – The Chairman welcomed Lesley Potts, the council’s Head of Policy and Research and Sally Grindrod-Smith, the council’s City Region, Strategic Housing and Policy Manager to the meeting. Miss Potts and Mrs Grindrod-Smith had been invited to the meeting to discuss the month long ‘Festival of Skills and Opportunities’ events that were taking place throughout October, providing careers and training opportunities for people of all ages.
The council was committed to improving the economy by ensuring people had the right skills and qualifications they need for the current and future needs of employers in the area. The Festival of Skills aimed to meet this need.
Miss Potts and Mrs Grindrod-Smith delivered a presentation, before the Chairman facilitated a discussion on the Festival of Skills and Opportunities.
Resolved – (a) That the position be noted, and (b) that the Head of Policy and Research and City Region, Strategic Housing and Policy Manager be thanked for their attendance, presentation and for answering members’ questions.
