51 (51) REVIEW OF SUPPORT SERVICES (DEMOCRATIC SERVICES) – The Director of Policy and Resources submitted a report which sought approval for a revised structure for the Support Services Division of the Democratic Services Area of Legal and Democratic Services.

In February 2012, council approved in its four year budget plan a reduction target for the Democratic Service Division in Legal and Democratic Services, to which the Support Services function needed to contribute to the overall savings.

A revised and simplified staffing structure had now been prepared to better reflect the new focus for the service, and the proposals were outlined within the report and associated appendices.

Resolved – (a) That the cabinet member approves for implementation, the proposed staffing structure for the Support Services function of Legal and Democratic Services, and (b) that the council’s review protocol be used in the implementation of the new structure.
