8 (8) SPORTS FACILITIES – CHANGES TO ESTABLISHMENT – The Director of Places submitted a report seeking approval to increase the Sports Facilities establishment.
Sports Facilities faced the challenge of generating additional income during 2015/16 in order to meet approved budget targets.
A further investment in new staff and the redirection of existing staff resource was required to generate more income and improve customer service.
A £1 million refurbishment of Ancholme Leisure Centre was completed last summer. Since re-opening the new facilities an upturn in business had taken place.
The number of customers on Swimlincs and Health and Fitness monthly payment schemes had increased. There were 400+ children on the Swimlincs waiting list and 141 on the junior gymnastics waiting list.

Resolved – That the various changes to the Sports Facilities staffing establishment, as set out in the report and accompanying appendices, be approved.
