Asset Management, Culture & Housing Cabinet Member – Minutes – 31 January 2013

37                    (37) NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE HOUSING STRATEGY 2013-2018 – The Director of Places submitted a report seeking approval for the North Lincolnshire Housing Strategy.

The council had a legal duty to review housing needs in the area and had a strategy to meet those needs.  The current housing strategy ended in 2013.

The new evidence base had formed the strategy.  The evidence included the results of the strategic housing market assessment; the joint strategic needs assessment; data observatory information; and performance information.

The strategy was designed as a series of strategies on a page, with one page covering everything and then sections which covered:

·        Housing needs

·        Housing conditions

·        Homelessness

·        Independent living

·        Learning disabilities housing

·        Affordable warmth and carbon reduction

Resolved – (a) That the Housing Strategy for North Lincolnshire be approved, and (b) that action plans be submitted to the Cabinet Member for approval in time for the new financial year, following confirmation of the council’s budget.
