Asset Management, Culture & Housing Cabinet Member – Minutes – 6 August 2014

The corresponding report of the following item (Minute 110 refers) contains exempt information as defined in Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

110  (12) DISPOSAL OF LAND AT BURDOCK ROAD, SCUNTHORPE – The Director of Places submitted a report which sought consideration of the options for disposal of land at Burdock Road, Scunthorpe.

The council owned a plot of land at Burdock Road, Scunthorpe covering approximately 4.28 acres which was surplus to council requirements. Outline planning consent for residential development had been secured and a further planning consent was in place for the provision of a road and associated infrastructure providing access to the site. The planning consents allowed for a development of up to 54 units.

The council had received an indicative offer from a local developer to purchase the land at Burdock Road, Scunthorpe.

Full details of the proposed options were outlined within the report.

Resolved – (a) That Option 3 as detailed within the report be approved; (b) that should negotiations with the local developer prove unsuccessful, plans to undertake any works to provide additional infrastructure be deferred and wider offers for the site as it currently stands from any other interested parties be invited, and (c) that further tenders be sought for the infrastructure works required, to confirm the best cost obtainable in the event that an acceptable offer is not forthcoming for the site as it currently stands.

Note: Reports are in Portable Document Format (PDF) and therefore require a suitable reader to view them. A reader can be downloaded free from the Adobe website (full instructions for downloading the reader are provided on the site).
