a) The functions and areas of policy and decision making responsibility are:

  • Municipal Waste Management, including refuse collection, disposal and recycling
  • Highways (Local Transport Plan)
  • Commercial Property and Investment Strategy
  • Traded Services and Commercial Development, including with schools, public, private and voluntary sectors
  • Fleet Management and Vehicle Engineering
  • Catering, Cleaning and Public Conveniences
  • Bereavement Services, Cemeteries and Crematoria
  • Development Control and Planning Enforcement
  • Building Control

b) Additional specific delegated decision making powers to:

  • Sell, purchase and acquire land and property (outside the scope of officer delegation)
